Features

Patented drum and paddle design

The heart and major feature of our CT Series Windrow Compost Turner is the patented drum and paddle design, that changes the way the windrows are turned, aerated and lifted. It lifts higher and more efficiently breaks up, mixes and air-rates your compost. Importantly our unique design, uses up to 25% less power compared to conventional turners on the market saving you fuel every day.

Galvanized steel tunnel

An important major feature is the “semi~circle” tunnel, designed for maximum strength.  The entire galvanized steel tunnel is curved and smooth with no protruding nuts, bolts, folds or welds eliminating places for compost to pool or build-up causing corrosion.   This curve is vital working together with the water system in the process of turning organic waste; into compost involves moisture, oxygen and heat which are all highly corrosive.

Focused watering system

Another key benefit is the built-in focused watering system consisting of a multiple sprays nozzle’s covering the full arc of the tunnel, and width of the windrow.  This focuses an even spray from all sides into the windrow on every pass, this is ideal for applying compost inoculants and starters.  To make this a simple operation all CT Series Windrow Compost Turner feature a side mounted trailing arm that makes it simple to attach an optional WT5000 Water Wagon for continuous water supply.

One-piece hot dip galvanised side panels

First we hot dip galvanising both side panels gives you the best corrosion protection available, then we each prime and apply 2 pack paint to ensures maximum life and protection from corrosion

Hydraulic Steering and height control

The CT Series Compost Turner hydraulic system is easily operated from the comfort of the tractor cabin which allows the unit to centre behind the tractor and lift the Windrow Turner for higher ground clearance and easier height control while turning. All our turners are fitted with sheer pins in the steering arm, to protect the turner in case you should get it bogged

Amazingly fuel efficient

In real world testing a JPH Equipment CT270 compost turner proved to be so well balanced and power efficient that it only used 15 hp to go through a standard size 2.7×1.5m windrow at 400mt/ph.  The test rig was a John Deere 110hp tractor pulling a CT270 through a two week old 2.7×1.5m windrow that had not been turned that day. Using the CAN bus port we were able to monitor the tractors data as we turned through a standard size 2.7×1.5m windrow at speeds from 200mt to 400mt/ph recording data like throttle position, speed, rpm.

Just Tractor Alone ~ 30%, +CT270 @ 200mt/ph ~ 38%, @ 240mt/ph ~  42%, @ 330mt/ph ~ 45%, @ 400mt/ph ~ 47%.  It not just the amazingly fuel efficienty of the  CT series compost turner, it’s the reduced load on the tractor  engine wear,

Rubber safety curtains

CT Series Windrow Turners are also fitted with sturdy rubber curtains front and back to deflect flying stones and debris protecting staff and equipment, the front curtains are overlapped for additional tractor protection, but will not affect the windrow height itself.

Soil Foodweb International (SFI) tick of approval

We are delighted to have been granted the Soil Foodweb Tick of Approval, this approval means that our CT series of windrow turners meets the exacting standards established by SFI.You can be assured that companies holding the SFI TOA provide products in accordance with the latest in soil science, and at levels superior to standard regulations relating to agricultural inputs and their management.

Independently done risk assessment

The turner design has been true an independently risk assessment, and making it perfect for use in workplaces with staff or contractors

Adding water wagon

The CT Range has side mounted trailing arm makes it simple to attach a WT5000 Water Wagon which is as an integral part of the composting process. Water can be easily added to the windrow using the CT Series Compost Turner built-in watering system. The special nature of the unique watering system is to save water and the design ensures an even spray of water in the windrows. Therefore, better composting, less water usage and limited water runoff.
